Time to say goodbye

The time has come to say goodbye to all our camper friends for the Main Session for 2010, and what a session it has been.

We have had a blast over the last four weeks having the adventure of our lives!

Our first big event was the 4th July Celebrations. We begun the day with various fun game then into the night we had a dance with Keystone Girls Camp with Fireworks down by the lake including a firewheel bike ramp backflip!

Though out the session we were able to fit in a few more extra activities including: Become a movie star video workshop, Rock Band music workshop where you make your own recording, Chuck Norris house of Kung Fu- the art of self defence,  3D Archery with moving targets, a rock climbing competition at Ashville, and a three day sea kayaking trip to Capers Island, South Carolina.

On the last week after everyone returned from their trips we were able to hold our annual Campalooza! Where we invited Ton-a-wonda girls camp for a delightful dinner with boisterous chants and display of Camp Pride, a skate demonstration from extreme pro skaters, and a rocking concert by our music councilors and campers.

On closing day we ended with our epic Olympics relay event where the boys must use all their skills that they have developed over the summer to work as a team, finish the course twice and ring the gong! What a relay it was!

We had four boys complete their paddle this year, they all work so hard for it and show us all that they are responsible  citizen and a positive role model to all boys here at camp. Congratulations to Jack McGranahan, Josh Blotnick, Griffin Mason and Jeff Auger and a big congratulations to all who received their brands this session!

This summer has not only been about taking on the trill of high adventure by conquering the white water rapids, climbing to the peak of Johns Rock and taking on the slopes at Sugar Mountain but also building self confidence and self reliance, developing a respect for nature, themselves and making friendships that will stand the test of time.

We look forward to seeing you all next summer!
